The village in the mountains at the foot of the Jungfrau (4158 m)

Wengen (1274 m) is situated on a wind-protected sun terrace at the foot of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, 400 metres above the Lauterbrunnen Valley. The traditional holiday resort offers a family-friendly skiing and hiking area around Männlichen-Kleine Scheidegg and the Eiger Glacier.

Since 1893, Wengen has been reached from Lauterbrunnen by the historic Wengernalp Railway (WAB). Wengen has more than 1000 permanent residents. The top events are the International Lauberhorn Races (World Cup ski races) and the Jungfrau Marathon.

In winter, the large ski area and in summer the magnificent hiking area of the Jungfrau Region are at your disposal. The "Top of Europe", the highest railway station in Europe with its magnificent view of the Aletsch Glacier and the Alpine world, is on your doorstep.

Far away from the everyday rushing and restlessness, we are surrounded by an intact flora and fauna. Thanks to the secluded location on the edge of the low-traffic mountain village of Wengen, you can breathe easy - in pure mountain air and unspoilt nature.

500 kilometres of hiking trails are there for you to explore. The Jungfrau Region offers something for everyone: from a leisurely walk around Wengen to a guided, high-alpine tour.
